Final Round Newsletter - 20th October 2020

It has been a long and trying season this year, with COVID-19 affecting our year and the lives of most people.

This Sunday (25th October)marks the last of our games this season with our All Age Men Div. 5 team playing their grand final at Blacktown Football Park kicking offat 10:00am.

When you consider that our first game this year was the Premier League kicking offon Saturday 14th March, that makes the season nearly seven and a half months long (not including preseason and end of year presentations!).

I would like to congratulate everyone on getting through the season and thank everyone who has turned up to Minchinbury to support the club, the teams, and the players.

Thanks also to all the coaches, managers and team helpers who have done a great job keeping our players on the field this season. The COVID plans meant a lot more work for us this year but we came through with flying colours.

Finally, I would like to thank the committee for all the hard work that they have put in this year. Their efforts in keeping the club running smoothly during such a difficult time is testimony to their skills and their dedication to our club.

To finish the year, we will still be holding presentations, but they will be quite different to the "normal" presentations that we have had in previous years. This newsletter outlines the arrangements that will be in place to help continue to keep our members COVID safe.

Yours in soccer - Stephen Bradbury - President Minchinbury Soccer Club

Finals Teams

Our club had 6 teams qualify for semi-final soccer this year. Those teams were13/3,15/2's,16/2Boys, Youth Div. 3, All Age Ladies Div. 4 and All Age Men Div. 5. These teams have all played magnificently during the finals and have represented Minchinbury Jets in a wonderful manner.

Of these teams our All Age Ladies Div. 4 team won their grand-final. We would like to congratulate Elle and the girls on their success.

As previously mentioned, our All Age Men Div. 5 team are still to playthis Sundaywitha 10:00amkick off at Blacktown Football Park. We wish them the best of luck on the day and encourage people to get out and support them.

Return of Playing Shirts and Training Kits

Players must return their playing shirt at the end of the season to be eligible for presentations. If you still have a club playing shirt, please contact your team manager immediately to organise its return. Team managers who still have their teams playing strip and coaches who still have the training kit are asked to contact the club president, Stephen Bradbury, to organise their return. Training balls are to be given to the players if you have not already done so.

As with all clubs, all committee positions are declared vacant and elections will take place for all committee positions. Our club needs people to step up and help to run the club. The more people involved in the committee, the more we can share the workload! We ask that you please strongly consider joining the committee in 2021.

Our Junior Presentation for our U5 to U16 age groups will be heldon Sunday 22nd Novemberat Minchinbury Reserve. Due to COVID restrictions we will not be having rides and barbeques this year.
